For me it's saddles, handlebars and chainrings & forks*
I've got loads of the above.
I think I'm close to having every alt bar made by On One and plenty from others manufacturers too. A Fizik road bar turned up yesterday!
Saddles, be it test versions, SH or new I've got loads in varying shapes and sizes.
Most surprisingly I have at least 2 ice cream tubs stacked with chainrings.
Don't get me started of forks - all the AtoCs, carbon, steel, retro, new ... 🤫
Come the apocalypse I'm ready!
What have you amassed inadvertently (or advertently) amassed?
* I'm discounting actual bikes from this as we all know the math aint mathing when it comes to n+1 .....
Pedals, but I did give some orange Superstar Nano Evo's away recently. And often tyres - I do skip stuff once a year though.
Recently bought some bits for a build that I didn't use and didn't get round to sending back, but have made use of some now.
E-thirteen Helix Race cranks that didn't suit my Stanton are now on my Ragley - the SLX crank kept falling off. Silver PNW Loam 225mm dropper (too long for the Stanton) is now on the Ragley too as the Brand X was sagging. XTR cassette (bought 10/45 instead of 10/51) is now on the 27.5 wheel I'm trying on the Stanton - I now have a spare pair of 29" Hunt Proven Trails. Just need to find a home for the Oak stem I bought - that didn't suit the Stanton 🤣
Headset spacers and outdated brake mounts are the two things I seem to have inadvertently amassed a large collection of.
For me it's mainly Frames (which is quite an expensive one!) - I love building bikes so I'll quite often justify buying a bargain frame and swap everything across thinking "I'll sell the old frame to recoup some of the cost, and it'll be fun" and then remember I don't like dealing with ebay/marketplace and they all just end up in a big pile 🙃
MTB tyres (probably a common one): Take off summer tyres for something more mud-appropriate and store them. Spring comes around and Merlin has a sale on so I just buy new/different ones instead, and repeat...
And brake discs, take off a slightly wobbly/contaminated one and stick it in the pile to be cleaned/straightened and stick a new one on because obviously I've left it until 5 minutes before I'm riding, then forget about it until next time I add another one to the pile on top of it...then realise my wheels are mostly centrelock so why do I need a dozen spare 6-bolt discs that are all bent 🤔

Are you me? 🤣
outdated brake mounts
I found in my pile an AtoZ 160 > 185(?) IS to IS mount. I don't remember the last time I had an IS mount caliper however ... it may be useful one day ... it is quite a nice CNC piece ...
Valve dust caps
Three link ends of new chains
V-brake conical washers
Ahead spacers
Bar end plugs
Every possible bolt that might fit on a bike
SPD cleats bought to bring online purchases up to free postage
It's the stuff I stopped using when it was current and then held on to until it is obsolete. My think now is to hold on to it even longer until it might then become vintage and have a value once more......at which point I'll hold on to it again in case I might want to build up a vintage bike. I won't. But I might. But I won't.

I have them in multiple sizes and multiple colours. I can't even remember what bike(s) they were for!
Also have a few packets of miscellaneous Superstar brake pads that have no model number on them that I keep "just in case".
It's not just bike stuff. You should see my miscellaneous random phone screen protector and ear bud rubber end bits collections😆
I not a hoarder though, I did eventually bin all my SCART, RCA, phono and optical cables.
Definitely tyres. Not helped by having a number of bikes with different wheels size/use cases. For example, I have 3 brand new 4.4" Jumbo Jims, bought because they were cheap. At my current rate of consumption I'll have to right them into my will.
I've a selection of narrow handlebars, awaiting the XC reboot, probably half a dozen assorted seat posts, a couple of saddles, and a mixed bag of bike lights - all needing batteries and therefore essentially superceded by rechargeables.
Cassettes and handle bars, I recently had a clear out and found bars I had long since forgotten about, I would sell them but they don't fit in a Jiffy bag so well making postage a bugger.

Classic avoidance **High Five**
I seem to have loads of part worn bottom brackets and pedals that I've kept from when I've changed drivetrains but the BB & pedals are still 'okay-ish' - so I keep them for an emergency that never happens.
I also seem to have loads of headset spacers, chainring bolts & various other bolts and spacers. Oh and part worn tyres, must have about 6 or 7 pairs hanging up in the shed.

You do know you are never fitting them, don't you?
Grips, handlebars, stems, headsets, frames, forks, rims, spokes, hubs, cranksets, bottom brackets, pedals, shocks, tyres, inner tubes, seatubes, saddles, chains, cassettes, front shifters, and rear shifters.
In addition, I have various boxes of metal off cuts, random screws and random bearings.
Funnily enough, whenever I actually need a part it always turns out I don't have exactly what I need so I have to buy another one anyway.
Four identical spare saddles. Long out of production so I used to buy one any time they appeared on ebay.
The perfect saddle is worth hoarding.

I'm sure some of them are over 10yrs old or more!
I opened a draw the other month and found 6 sets if bars in it. Then another one in my wardrobe.
And a quick audit had me at 9 brake calipers and 11 levers. Obviously I sought to remedy this, and two more of each turned up the following day.

I wish I'd bulk bought the NP Horizon Sam Hill Enduro saddles tbh
I've got a large collection of 27.5" tyres but no 27.5" bikes to put them on.
At least my old 26" collection is getting some use on my kids' bikes.

🤔
First of all, drawer, stupid typo, I was horrified at myself.
Secondly, no, it's where I've hidden all the shit that I bought in the CRC fire sale that there isn't room for in the garage. I suspect I'm not alone.
26" wheels and expensive (at the time) 26"framesets that no one wants anymore...🤣
I'm not to bad. I have spare chainrings for the MTB's as both sets aren't that common anymore and expensive at RRP. I have two sets of wheels for 3 of my bikes (making six sets) with different tyre combo's.
Chainrings, stems, AXS batteries, and hydraulic Reverbs
Luckily, not much anymore. I have a mass clearout when the workshop gets toward capacity but its the usual stuff I end up giving away/selling/throwing out mentioned above. Tyres, wheels, used chainrings and cassettes, bits of new chain etc. I always seem to end up with an unhealthy amount of grips knocking about. I do think I'm getting more ruthless with it all and can identify those bits that I'll never use ever again before they sit in a box for 5 years on the shelf (that said, I'm sure I'll definitely use that 27.5 Maxxis Shorty thats been hanging around for about 6 years now and still has the tags on it!).
Currently have several not completely broken but not working properly dropper posts of various makes in the shed
single speed cogs, titanium bits, (bars, cranks, prototype frames, seatposts etc) I do have little cull and sell some bits of bling and then it all comes back with some little friends. Tyres...lots of tyres in every size from 26" to 36" with all width from xc to fat in 26, 27.5 and 29.
(10, probably more years ago), I fully luddited up and decided I would go out riding 26, 1+1/8, 3x9 rapid rise and stock piled accordingly , I cracked for tubeless as it’s so practical (and works on 26) but 27.5 - pass, 29 - pass (I’m sure they’re better but not better enough). If only the sunning cods hadn’t brought out e-bikes I wouldn’t have a large pile of bits I’ll never get through. Ho bleeding hum ( but I still use my 26 orange 5 and it won’t be going in my lifetime)

This thread needs tick boxes.
At one point there was a worldwide shortage of 27.2mm Thomson seatposts. I discovered I was hoarding them in my shed.
Brooks Cambium C17 saddles. Gravel tyres. Unused tubeless valves. Pedals. Lots of pedals.
I have 4 xt m8000 rear mechs. Mainly because I kept breaking them so I bought spares and turned 5 broken mechs into 4 functioning ones.
My 7 year olds next bike is going to have xt shifting, I'm justifying it to myself as we need to carry fewer spares across the bikes.....
Hey Singletrack - I’m Daffy and I’m a Chris Kingaholic.
Chris King Hubs. I always buy more in whichever new colour I like (or might come to like) knowing they’ll stop making them just at the point I need/want them. But of course the old ones NEVER die. And I don’t want to part with them, well, because then I’d want or need them the very next bike I build. I have 13 sets of hubs/wheels in (not quite) all the colours of the rainbow.
I seriously regret missing out on Sour Apple.
I seriously need help…
I seem to have loads of part worn bottom brackets
Oh yes. This. And spacers. I could probably built a tower of BB spacers that would reach the moon.

Rookie numbers. Wait until you have 8 and have made 4 working ones from the parts and all the old broken bits scattered around the shed… just in case
Brake pads, I must stop. Used to be perfect for bumping an order into free postage.

Last time I had a clearout, I took several pairs of brand new V-brake pads off to the LBS workshop!
This was at a point where I hadn't owned a V-brake bike for about 3 - 4 years... Although to be fair at least I hadn't bought any new pads in that time.
I reckon it was using forums such as this 'un that inspired my low-level survivalism. There was definitely a point where I switched from fix it when it breaks to keep it in stock, I don't think it would have occurred to me without reading tales of sheds and garages full of archaic gear faffage.
I've gone ext spring mad
Any one interested in

Clearing out?😉
Happy to swap for hope pro 4 boost hubs as I need to horde some of them 😄
Forgot to mention a ton of shimano SPD pedals, used to clip in all the time, but then foot/shoe issues put me back to flats (for the time being)
If we’re also counting stuff that’s in use/at least attached to a bike...
Odi Vans waffle grips. Fitted to all flat bar bikes. 5 pairs in use, been through a dozen plus.
Dward Designs Ti top caps and seat clamps, 4 or 5 of each, very lovely. All my MTBs have his chainrings too, hence the surplus mentioned previously.
Maxxis tyres. I haven’t the brain capacity to learn another manufacturer’s tread pattern/compound/sidewall combo, let alone how they might ride, so must have 20 odd of them.
Spds!
I used time pedals for ages, then got fed up of the rate I wore the cleats out on bike a bike and swapped to Shimano.
I must have 8 pairs in varying states of wear including an almost mint special pair. I could sell them at appropriate prices for 20 year old very worn pedals and find the hord is worth about £8.
So I horde them because " they will come in use one day" basically I plan If my tiny kids graduate to SPD they will be on them. In about 10/ 15 years.
A plan with no downsides.
Tires!
I wondered if I had a problem when we moved house and the removal guys used our wheel barrow to shift them. Tire pile might have grown since then.
Bikes usually because they get so much abuse they wouldn't be worth selling and those I have sold over the years I wish I still had.
All of the hope. Various kit from about 95 onwards all the way to rx4 and fat-sno many variations of the headsets and colours , stems , seatposts , hubs -rs monos , road wheel sets the factory wheelsets with the 3 and 4 bolt disks , big uns , bulbs , monos , sports , xc pro2-3-4-5 . You name it I've probably got it or broken it and had it replaced.
Think I'm only missing cranks and anything electronic -because I'm a USE fan boy for that
Ooh yeah, Hope light batteries, after a foray into (winter) 24hr racing.
Ha, this is me
29er wheels. In the early days, back in 2006ish, there were just Bontragers, then Pro2 with Halo rims then Stans / Hope which were silly expensive for my budget. Ever since have hoarded 29er wheels. Still have a loft full of the CRC close down £60 rear pro5 wheels of varying types. its silly really.
Tons of Hope stuff because its what I run and for me its so expensive to buy new. Tech 3 brakes, hubs, BBs headsets.
Loads of Thompson posts and stems, again as too expensive to buy new. The Stems aren't even that good really!
A huge box of Shimano XT and XTR 10 speed drive train stuff as I missed 11 speed and only now going 12 speed.
10 or 12 pairs of various high rise and alt-bars as I keep changing them.
Anyone else still have packets of stuff, chains etc with the light blue CRC Flood sale labels on them? when was that? 2002?
@scotroutes - that is impressive. I have a smaller scale set up buy that is **chef's kiss**
I'm also adding to my list above seat posts ... specifically Thomson. All the usual sizes in layback and straight, black and silver.
Not sure when I will need the 30.0 or the 29.4(?) again!

Do you have anything in 27.0 and silver I can take off your hands?
I’ve got loads of wheels! Does anyone have a surplus of 27.5 non-boost frames or 29 boost frames they want to get rid of? Then I can build a bigger bike for my eldest and a utility bike for work from my spare parts.
<Sighs>
Off the top of my head:
-Tyres galore (naturally)
-Random Wheels / Rims / Hubs / spokes (including a couple of Sturmey 3 and 5 speed jobs)
-At least three Frames and six Forks (but never quite a pair that actually go together)
-Lots of cassettes / bits of cassettes
-Short sections of chain (2-5 links)
-Saddles
-Single Grips (missing their counterpart)
-8 and 9 speed (rear) shifters
-(redundant) MTB Front Mechs
-The Upper/lower crowns and 20mm axle from a ~2003 RS Boxxer (but not the rest of the fork)
-Three children's bikes (16"/20"/24" wheeled) that I want gone, but would mean acknowledging my children are now teenagers...
I know I could probably lash together two or three franken/pub-bikes from the miscellaneous crap in the Garage, but I don't actually want to these days, I need to flog it all and convert it to cash to spend on things I actually want/need (or more tyres)...
