[Closed] Free hub - What's up with mine?

I just the had free hub body replaced at the local shop, I'm at a loss to work out what's up with it now.

So the hub was a Shimano Deore (595 vintage) . Previously the free hub was on it's last legs but otherwise the gears were spot on and nicely indexed.

When I started riding it with the new free hub and nice smooth serviced hub I noticed the gears were all over the place. So I tried to adjust the mech, but the bottom limit was wrong and would only shift to the 2nd smallest sprocket. So I reset the limit but then things got really odd... the chain jams against the frame in the smallest sprocket. There just isn't enough space.

So what could it be? It looks like the sprocket is further "out" towards the frame than it was before. I'm going to take it back the shop later, I'm just really curious what it is so I can make sure it's fixed.

Thanks

I'd take the whole bike not just the wheel that way they have no excuse for the axle spacing being wrong.

Quite possibly the wrong freehub body, they aren't all the same widths/seal housings etc. despite looking similar, sometimes you need to juggle spacers to get it to work properly (or maybe that's been done previously, and you now have the correct one).

They had the whole bike to start with, that's why it's doubly dissapointing.

Yep I think you're right with it being the wrong freehub body, I just looked at the receipt and it's looks like its the replacement freehub doesn't have the right part number for the hub.
