Harder better faster stronger...

I had some inspiration for improving my improvised cargo bike, even though it was already a thing of ingenuity and beauty, it now has even sleeker lines.

Before:

After: it only awaits the longer forks (1" ground clearance looks cool but not so practical when I need to pwn a kerb!) and the bespoke wooden rack which I'll fit this week...pics to follow!

Is that rear hub a PowerTap?!
Odd choice.
Otherwise, well done, top bodging.

It's a 1st generation nexus roller brake hub I had lying around.

bigsi - I've put my heart and soul into this bad-boy, I'd be gutted to see it go.

I've been trying to control myself stu. Without a library of "bikes hanging from trees" pics it's tough.

You got a close up of how you've joined the frames together? Looks pretty good and I'm tempted to have a go myself.

George it's a bolt through the top tube and seat-clamp.

I expect it to fail at which point I will beef it up somehow.

Rear BB bolts to front dropouts.

Should be stable at speed with the super long wheelbase, not so good on the corners

Agreed. It'll make more sense when the carrying stuff is in place.

Cargo bikes are ace. Even bodged ones.

what does it ride like?
Was it worth it would you recommend it to others?
Not as professional looking as the fork job but I do like the concept and execution.
you could use it as a tandem [ tag along /seat] if you had young kids - was that part of the plan?
