[Closed] Frame weld failed 4 months out of warranty anybody had similar with Dawes?

ask them nicely? Is it steel?

Just get it weldedback on. It's basically a nut on the bb shell isn't it?

Grrr and its Alloy so a repair might be possible but most frame builders dont do alloy, Ive asked one of our local framebuilders but I wish Id been able to buy a steel frame now!The curious thing is that steel tandem frames are now all much more expensive than alloy!

If you're going to be pedantic, you should realise that he was correct the fist time (it's still an alloy frame), the only bit he was wrong at was the bit about frame builders not doing it (as they would mostly deal with steel)

Try alloy wheel refurbishes, one of the guys in our riding group had what looks like half his commencal stuck back together. If he'd not said anything I'd not have noticed.

Thanks for the number, point taken about alloys but we are all a bit lazy in the way we use language sometimes!
