Fancy a new lid - have the older Speedframe Pro. I'm normally a medium in most helmets (including my Dropframe Pro), but had to go Large in the Speedframe - other people reported similar at the time.

Short of tracking one down and trying on, or ordering two and sending one back/gambling on one size - does anyone know if they have brought the new model in line with normal sizing, or does it still run small?

I sent one back a few weeks ago.

I'm 56cm so M was correct according to the charts. The helmet felt absolutely massive and moved quite a bit when properly tightened up. The bits of boa string along the sides were pretty annoying against my scalp too, probably hampered by the fact those bits were all that kept it moving from side to side.

For comparison, I have a medium Giro Montaro from 5 years ago that fits and feels perfect.

Apologies, I've just checked my Speedframe is M, Proframe is M and it's the Dropframe that's a L, got mixed up - looks like it may be a M again for the Speedframe then.

Either that, or I'm just confused 🤣

I'm sitting here in my regular poverty spec Speedframe right now. 62cm head in a size large. Feels exactly the same as previous Fox helmet which was a Mainframe I think.

I prefer this one as the enclosure tightens from further down on the back of my head. The Mainframe used to tighten around my temples which was very uncomfortable so I always ran it a bit too loose and it would move around.

The Speedframe feels perfect and I can really lock it down so it doesn't fall over my eyes on jumps.

I think this is correct.  Early Dropframes sized up small compared to any other Fox helmet I’ve tried.  I am always medium but would have needed a large Dropframe.  I think the current model is back to normal sizing and afaik all Speedframes were the expected size

Yep, you're right - tried a medium 'new' Dropframe and the fit was spot on.

Now looking at Speedframe RS (which I've only just found out exists) - has thicker padding and MIPS, so maybe that muddies the waters a bit more...

Will go for medium in any case

Ordered the RS from Winstanleys for £119 (RRP£224) they seem to have Fox lids cheaper than anywhere else atm
