Is there an easy way to replace the bushes on Fox Shox without having to purchase specialist tools??

do you have a vice and a selection of tools then yes, however its much easier to just buy one of these

Yes - I use a long bolt with some washers and a nut and a socket large enough to swallow the outgoing bushing.
Socket on one side, bolt through, set up new bushing to drift out old as it goes in, big washer on end of new bushing, then nut one and wind the new bushing in, pushing the old one out into the socket.
