[Closed] Fox Float RL Fork Rebound Adjuster "popped"

[#5108151]

Just finishing my ride today I looked down to see that the red rebound adjuster knob on the top of the right leg of my Fox Float RL had popped up from its normal position in the middle of the lockout and is now about an inch up on the shaft.

Pushing it back into position I can't find a thread or anything in the fork that it screws into, as soon as I compress the fork it just raises up again.

So exactly how broken are they? What do I need to do / look for when I strip them tomorrow?

Having stripped the fork tonight it looks like the internal shaft of the damper (connected to the rebound adjuster) has snapped.

So looking to replace the whole damping unit now.... so i true STW fashion - what you got?

Looking for a RL damper for 2009 fox 32 floats.

Someone must have a pair of old forks kicking round the back of the shed with the right bits.

Cheers,

Happened to my float 160s last summer. Mojo very kindly repaired it for free even though it was 6 months out of warranty. Drop them an email with a photo.

Got an R damper that you're welcome to if you can manage without the lockout.

I bought one of those rebound rods from the evans cycles suspension workshop for about £15. Fairly simple fix and no need for new damper. Their number is on evans site

Sounds like the bolt holding the rod onto the adjuster barrel has sheared, may have damaged the barrel too.
Fairly easy fix, but it's best to use the correct shaft clamps to dissasemble the cartridge to reduce the chance of damage, we can repair or supply parts for you. 😀

Cheers Loco,

Have just booked it into Mojo for the cost of the replacement part and an hours labour, so not as disasterous as I first thought.

Many thanks,
