On the Gen6 Fuel i thought i ought to fit a chainguide, however the cheapo i ordered doesn't fit due to the chainstay/pivot area being too far out. So using the iscg05 mounts it hits.
I used a couple of number plate screw/nuts which gave me a 7mm clearance at the iscg05 mount point, that pushed the chainguide outwards of course, but a little too much so the back of the 'guide' hits the back of the crank-arm.
I could trim the spacers by 1-2mm which would do the job, but ideally i want a chainguide which is further forward that the usual 11o'clock, so sitting somewhere closer to 1 o'clock.
We didn't have any issues on his rides yet, nor did i at Dyfi... but if i can do it cheaply it's just another little safety margin that would be nice.
What guide are you trying to fit ?
I have an MRP G4 CS 34-38T ISCG 05 top and bottom and it has a lot of room to rotate to fit
