Evening all

I'm a relative newbie to MTBs, well I have just rediscovered MTBs after riding road for a long time. I have a Specialised Chisel Comp, bloody love it, but the for seems a bit of a let down. It is a Judy Gold, granted it is 100mm and I am 106kg so I have to run it at 170psi + to run 25% sag. Can anyone recommend a 100mm, boost 29er fork please? I am truly lost!

TF Tuned have recommended a 100mm Pike and converting to coil spring, but no matter how hard I search, I cannot for the life of me find a 100mm Pike to start with. Are TF Tuned still the tuning company to go to for Rock Shox or can anyone recommend somewhere else?

Cheers

Ben

Manitou Magnum càn be had in 100mm travel. Boost, and designed either for 27.5+ or 29+. I guess the 27.5+ model would fit a normal 29" wheel. Or go for the 29+ version for even better mud clearance.

Great forks (have some on my 29+ bike) and currently available for less than £300 at CRC.

Still air but a dvo saphire or Xfusion Trace hlr would be my starter. Both 34mm chassis  forks with good dampers, both can run 100mm. Would be a big step up from your Judys I suspect.

Thanks for the advice. The Magnums on CRC although cheap are 27.5 only. Can they be run with 29er wheels?

The DVO stuff looks immense!

Should fit fine. They're designed for up to a 3.4" tyre, and with a 3" tyre there's loads of room.

Pike would be my answer, when i wanted something similar i went for a pike 29 but dropped it to 120.

You can use a 27.5 120mm airspring in the 29 pike to get the 100mm travel, apparently the handling can be a bit doggy but is rectified by using the pike DJ topcap, you need quite a few tokens otherwise. Or just converting to coil as tf suggest.

If that doesnt make much sense then tf tuned will sort it out for you. I had a quick look and there was some 100mm pike 29+ forks on bikester.
