hey STW hivemind,

I'm speccing up a build for my girlfriends first proper MTB

I'm looking at getting her the 14" On one inbred frame and have a reasonable set of wheels to hand with a 15mm front hub and QR rear.
That however creates a limiting factor as i'm now looking for a fork with straight steerer and 15mm axle. Any recommendations or deals out there on the <£200 end of the market?

Merlin had some deals on Rebas with maxle and straight steerer, but a little over your budget - but surely she is worth it ?!?

the Reba is a bit over budget at £300, but the Recon Gold TK is on for £200

my mate has just emailed me this as well

would i get stung with an import tax for that if i bought it from germany?

you could just pop a universal 15mm -> QR adaptor through the hub such as this

which would open up your fork choice no end.

Cheap fork and lowers replacement possible?

Could sell the spare lowers for a few bob to recoup costs

@CP - thanks, that adaptor looks like it could be a winner!

@curiousyellow - nice idea, but i don't have the experience with forks to confidently do that

DTSwiss XMM120 would fit the bill!

I shall shortly have a 6-month old pair for sale, in immaculate condition. Mail in profile if you're interested.

I was thinking of selling these...but postage would kill it. I'd need £200
