Hi has anyone any experience of road biking around the forest of dean area? Got an opportunity to go there in early March for a week and just wondering if it's mountain bike only.
Thanks Diz.
Plenty of road biking to be had in the FOD also around Ross on Wye, Monmouth and Abergavenny. A week will not be long enough.
rdfcc have organised road rides, www.rdfcc.org.uk
If you're on Endomondo have a look for the Forest of Dean Classic route. 86 miles of Wye Valley and FoD goodness. You could always plan a trip over the Severn Bridge too.
As the 3 other locals above say, there is great road biking in and around the area. Roads not too busy, the scenery is varied and beautiful, the contours are nice and lumpy 8)
Thank you for all the information. Can't wait to get some miles in.
