Anyone know why the right hand exit onto the fire road has been blocked ?

It hasn't had it? I thought they just blocked one of the drops on to the fireroad meaning you had to drop off to the left as you approach it. Passed it today but have to admit I wasn't riding down it, just past

Edit just reread your post, I'm guessing that drop is closed as it was getting pretty worn, i was a bit purplexed as it looked like someone wanted to force people to take the tougher drop.

Yeah it's been like that for at least 3 weeks, I rode past it today and noticed someone has removed some of them. It's obviously riders who have blocked it I would say, you can still drop to the fireroad the other side of the blocked exit. It's just slightly more 'technical'

Murdock has put the logs in himself to recreate the original line around the tree drop onto the fire road. Some numpty modified it a few years ago but cutting out some tree's to make it easier. If you cant ride it don't modify it!

Unfortunately we are seeing more of this activity on our off piste trails. It takes time effort to build new lines and its not appreciated when someone modifies it just to make it easier for them or their strava time.

The off piste stuff is what makes the FoD more special.

Is it a different line though? I thought it was just the right drop to the road was easier than the left? However the left had a better entry in so arguably easier? Can't say I ever noticed 2 distinct lines that would benefit anyone particularly certainly not strava?

It's a great trail either way and the second part after the fire road changes every time I ride down it...I say ride more like ass twitch down it

Just the right onto the path at the end of the top section. So around the tree is more of a nighty right/tighter turn. A tad more technical and tighter so you try not to clip the bars.

I remember years ago when it was a proper ledge and not warn like it is today ๐Ÿ™‚

The bottom section has been blocked a few times recently so be careful, same as shut castle further up .

I just live up the road so all the Ellwood area is my local ๐Ÿ™‚
