Afternoon gents. With the upcoming Gorrick events coming up soon i thought i'd do a bit more lung busting short sprint type XC today.
I did notice on a longer ride that on the steeper climbs i sort of flap my foot about, almost as though the bearing is gone in the LHS pedal or the cranks being loose. However neither of them is the case... I was running a different pair of footwear today than usual, so it's deffo not just the 5'10's doing it. Sort of at the top of the stroke my foot seems to lift a little.
I swapped the Spearfish to flat bars and was running Maxxis Aspens today (they're like Ralphs really) and the bike was twitchy as hell on the front end... Now, i was also running at road typre pressures of 60+ psi, mostly because i had these wheels on for a planned road ride, but also out of curiosity as to whether higher pressures and flat bars make a quicker XC ride ?
The flat bars deffo seem less comfy on the hands/wrists, but the position also means i seem to be able to put down the power a bit quicker and harder too, especially when standing..
60 psi off road? no wonder it was twitchy (unless your trails are hard baked like concrete)
YEah fair point and understandable... but was curious how it rode...
