Two punctures yesterday whilst on a local ride down some bridleways and farm tracks. First one just threw a new tube in but fingers went numb in the process and then the second one I just walked home. Not had a look yet but more than likely a thorn. If I went tubeless and the thorn went into the tyre and stayed in there would the liquid seal around the thorn? Mate told me about slim tubes, would the same apply if the thorn stayed in? Really just trying to justify the extra expense of tubeless tyres. I've been through a lot of tubes in the last year and thinking if tubeless are that good then might switch. Opinions and experiences please?

Tubeless works. Mate had a puncture that wouldn't seal because the solution had dried out so he put a tube in. He forgot to check for thorns though. He later found twelve of them. That's twelve punctures he would have had if he'd been using conventional tubes.

Tubeless works 99% of the time. For the other 1% you put a tube in to get you out of there.

tubeless definitely works

recently replaced a worn-out Specialized Control Captain tire from the rear of my bike, run with Stan's No-Tubes solution

inspected the tire, little pieces of glass and thorns protruding through the tire carcass into the interior, no punctures in 1 year of running this tire ๐Ÿ™‚

Any con's with tubeless?

Yeh tyres, rims, rim strips, sealant are more expensive and can be a pain to setup.
Once your sorted though its sweet.

What about the American classic tubeless set? Fits any wheel so no need for tubeless rims...any thoughts?
