Hello,

I love my Arionne on my commuting MTB but find the back a bit too pointy for mountain biking. I've tried the Tundra and Antares but both are uncomfortable.

Is there anyone who finds the Arione and Gobi comfortable? Are they similar? Other recommendations?

Cheers!

I've got an Arione on my road bike and love it. I run Gobis on my mountain bikes and also get on really well with them. But you need to factor in the completely different riding positions, so I'm not sure how relevant the comparison is. I also, coincidentally, ran a Tundra for a while on my cross bike, but found it too flat and hard.

So I guess, yes, I find the Arione and the Gobi comfortable, but the Gobi is definitely plusher and not as flat, but I find that works for me on a mountain bike.

You can sometimes pick up super cheap ex-demo Fizik saddles on eBay or even borrow one from a Fizik dealer to see if the Gobi shape works for you.

I now run a Fabric saddle on the cross bike fwiw, find it really comfortable and there's a choice of shapes to suit your preferences. But it's so personal it's hard to know.

Thanks BWD! Just what I was hoping to hear.

I've a nice purple TEST Tundra saddle which will be on eBay presently!

I too have a purple Tundra, which sounds kind of wrong. Good luck with the Gobi 🙂

I’ve rode Gobi’s since they first came out and they were fine - in that time I have had 6.  I recently moved over to the Fabric Scoop and that is a lot more comfortable though...

I run with Tundra M3's on my MTB's but rather like the Antares VS on my CX bike and thinking of getting one for my road bike to replace the Specialized Toupe it came with.

Fisik: Gobi wing flex here in my spares box.

Love Gobis but they're quite variable.

Most flexible are the old kium rail version with fabric panels

The newer kium with shiny plastic panels is harder

The managanese rails are tougher again

The carbon rail version has the consistancy of a brick

Fizik Nisene ?

Got one on my FS and its fine. I'm usually a Selle Italia saddle person but it's been good.

I've had 3 Gobi's. Very comfy, always end up creaking badly.

That's strange as most who like Arione will like Antares, as they're nearly the same shape bar the extensions.  I've swapped to mainly Antares now on road, deciding I like them better than Arione.  I hate Gobi and Tundra.  I use Fabric and Charge Knife offroad.

Had a couple of Gobis (with the Kium rails, whatever the heck that is). Very comfy, but others find them rock solid. They creak eventually.

Defected to a Fabric Scoop on the last bike. Comfy too, but they creak like hell out of the box. Will try some of the tricks in the other thread to see if that will shut the thing up.
