Got a flat that wouldn't seal this morning, stuck a tube in and carried on, now I'm patching it up and there's a massive latex blob elsewhere on the tyre, that could be why this mornings snafu didn't seal. When patching do you normally remove latex blobs and patch these old "punctures" or leave well alone?
come on fellas, I'm about to re inflate and need you input before I do
I'd leave the stuff in the tyre where it is; so anything stuck on the inside surface of the tyre, I'd leave there.
But, I always try to clean the bead of latex before re-sealing.
I patch my tubeless tyres with standard Tip Top patches. I lightly sand the area where I'm applying the patch, but leave all of the other latex in place. Like stumpy, I clean the bead before reseating.
cheers, bead cleaned, blob left alone, reinflated, fingers crossed.
