I bought a Berk saddle off someone on here a couple of months ago for my gravel bike and the bond between the front of the rails and the saddle body came apart. Can anyone recommend what type of adhesive works well with carbon?
Thx
Rich
Carbon repair filler I've used this stuff for all manner of structural repairs, including chunks out of bike rim braking surfaces, modifications to frames. It dries black and can be polished smooth so as to be near invisible. You can also build-up fillet to support bonded joints - I made a computer mount for my racing kayak from the cut-offs from fork steerers - it took numerous paddle blows but remained intact.
I can confirm that regular 2 part epoxy in a tube didn't work well on my carbon Fabric scoop. It was too thick to properly penetrate into the gap at the nose rail/body interface.
BEing that I have some easycomposites laminating epoxy (EL2) I should have used that. Its been successful in repairing a few raceface next/sixc pedal inserts, so plenty good enough for a saddle I reckon.
What's worng with using a spoon?
