Having fought with it for half an hour and broken some tyre levers I'm thinking this is impossible!
Anyone any ideas?

I didn't have a problem with my american classic wheels and Schwelbe tyres?

No issues here- though I did have one Schwalbe blow off an AC wheelset in the garage. Stan's everywhere... Schwalbe have since strengthened their beads.

I have the opposite problem to the OP - the RaRa is so baggy on the rim there's no chance of it sealing up tubeless :-(.

And having split the sidewalls of 2 rocket rons in as many weeks I'm thinking of looking elsewhere from Schwalbe.....

rexated, ghetto inflator is your friend here. At least that's what resolved my baggy bead issue on some AC AMs.
