Is i as simple as undo the hex nut on he top of the right hand leg, remove old damper, drain oil, re fill damping oil, put in new damper, tighten up?
lowers do not need to be removed do they?

...and no the lowers don't have to be removed

Yep, that's it. Make sure you get the correct qauntity of oil back in therre though. It's on the SRAM site under service somewhere......
