Someone here did this a few weeks ago, i can't remember whom exactly but they had an adapter and the harness.
I've found both online, but was there another part i needed?

You need to go to action cams and check the go pro mount for standard fittings. It isn't an official gopro product and costs about a tenner delivered.

Get the chest mount and a gopro buckle, the camera goes on non go pro mount which then fits on buckle and that pops in chest mount.

Bits needed -

http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/GoPro_mount_adapter -camera mount

http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/gopro-bag-of-extra-parts - bag of gopro mounts, you need some very thin spacers to go between gopro mount and non gopro mount as non gopro is fractionally small so when tightened the mount bends.

That bag has the bits you need to mount to whatever harness you want, I've gone with vented helmet and may also go for a chest mount to mix it up.

How you finding the Drift? I'm liking it but my riding is so poor that it isn't worth sharing yet!

I'm really liking the camera, the clarity is pretty impressive considering its the budget HD one at 720p not 1080p.

I've mounted the goggle strap mount onto my Flux helmet with some velcro strapping and some stickyback foam gasket from work.
So far it is very stable, but headcam shots are on the wobbly side when on rocky stuff like Jacob's Ladder etc.

I'll look them bits up, ta!

Just a question but am I alone in thinking a drift cam on the chest + a chest impact on ground or tree could be incredibly painful and damaging?

Atlaz - i have had exactly that thought, which is why i would ideally like to see a set up before i splash the cash on the harness!

Give me a few days and I'll have a picture of it. No more painful than doing the same with a GoPro...

Nice one ๐Ÿ™‚

Comfy? For some reason i was expecting the camera to be the other way up - with the mounting hardware underneath if you catch my 'drift' (sorry!)

Looks like it will give a good, shallow angle of film though and will catch the bars in the shot.

Doing it your way would not get the camera up high enough to record...if I sit on the bike, the camera records what is ahead rather than straight down or up.

Seems comfy enough, suspect it may catch on the saddle when things get very steep - but the GoPro I borrowed did that as well BUT the GoPro is a smaller form factor so shouldn't be quite as bulky.

Saying that, the DriftHD doesn't weigh anything and doesn't seem to cause any issues in use so I'd be happy to use it on my chest.

Do you have a dropper post? I do so maybe a saddle hang up wouldn't be a problem.
Definitely interested in that set up, if i get the harness and the mounting multi-pack from action cameras, will that be all i need?

can you mount these things on the top of you shoulder, sort of nearer the front, so you dont have constant chin in shot- just thinking aloud?

Muddydwarf - you will need the chest mount, the GoPro mount and the Bag of Mounts - the GoPro mount is the only - non-GoPro bit of kit.

I do have a dropper post but as I'm rather lanky, I can get right off the back and sitting on my back tyre with my saddle right up...but even with the saddle right down, if you are right over, it will get knocked...the GoPro got knocked a fair few times and I wasn't doing anything extreme (although I'm not that good on a bike so that will be subjective!).

rockhopperbike - I tried a shoulder mount on the strap of my backpack - it worked but wasn't stable...I used the Drift Helmet mount and velcroed it in place...it works but is prone to wobble...I'd guess that in the shot it meant that the right most 1/8th of the screen was the side of my head...I couldn't mount if forward as it had nothing to mount to.

I am still to actually get a video that can be used...I keep messing around with the angle the camera is positioned at and when I do film it is never right...I need to fix it and then stop playing with it. Also the riding I'm doing is on my own and comes across as incredibly boring as I'm not fit (so not fast) and still feart so it isn't that technical...
