Picked up some Planet X ones in the New Year sales so thought I'd give them a try today.

First five minutes... woah all over the place!

Next ten minutes... slowly getting steadier.

Next 45 minutes... pretty cool and steady spinning at about 90rpm and about 2/3 FTP. Only had wobbles when faffing about with the computer or when changing gear or stopping (down tube shifters and no brakes on the trainer bike made things interesting!)

Surprised really as I thought it'd take a few days but felt comfortable at the end of the hour. Though I think it'll be a while before I try some more adventurous intervals and not sure I will leave the safety of the hallway just yet either 🙂

You're fine now until the first time you forget where you are and try to stand up for a sprint.

Not brave enough to stand up yet, or even take my hands off the bars!

May have to invest in a set of brifters for the trainer bike as down tube shifters are rather tricky.

Nice relaxed hands and look forward (not down at the front wheel).

Funnily enough felt steadiest looking just beyond the front wheel. Probably because this is where I am mostly looking when out on the road bike!

Can you get your heart rate up? (AKA is there a fitness benefit?)

They are really good for practising maintaining your balance when standing up or 1 leg pedalling!

This was my first attempt on rollers:

(ok, maybe not quite my first attempt 😉

Yes, reckon I could do most of what I do on the trubo given a bit of practice. Also reckon it helps with some core stability stuff at the same time. They are resistance rollers and I thought they might be a bit too hard but it's about right. Similar sort of power for a gear/cadence as the turbo.

Maxtorque, some way off that 😉
