so... the frame that i found in a bush is no longer adorning the chest in the lounge. i took it along to the bike shop the other day and had a rummage in the parts bin and ended up ordering a few bits and pieces.
and here it is:
it's an old ladies Raleigh frame from the 70's. the garish paintjob was burnt off and i coated it in some cheap grey paint.
it rides brilliantly. really easy to wheelie, too...
oh, and it's for the GF, not me, hence the pink.
Nice wee mixte.
ah... mixte means ladies?
Needs mudguards. Don't want her flowery dresses getting all muddy, do you?
😉
yeah, but the sun is shining now! 28°C! TBH, i can't imagine she's going to ride it when it's pissing down. i found a crank with the chainring guard to save her trouser legs.... (got brownie points for that one).
Oh, and a basket. Needs a basket. With flowers.
Lucky lass!
was thinking either that or pannier rack. bit more practicle with her computer.

How about kittens for the basket?
and don't forget the chain guard, your ladies ankles need to be free from stops of oil and other chain related grubbiness.
'Mixte' frames are the ones with straight tubes from headtube to rear drop out, like yours.
Much stiffer than tradional female specific designs.
That looks superb, but your trees need thinning out.
Either that or your rhubarb's coming on really well.
Nice!
Now its just a case of sweeping the balcony, watering the pot plant and varnishing the table and the jobs a good 'un! 8)
fanks....
thankfully i/we only need to take care of the balcony. i like the trees as they are as they block out the car park opposite.
i'm off for a ride.... on my lady bike.
