[#558146]

After dancing around the issue for ages i decided sod it and went to order the last carbon yeti my LBS said was available in small, and i missed it, its gone.
just looking for a light 4 or 5 inch travel fs for marathons, enduros etc and having real difficulty due to sizing.
5ft 5 and need a virtual Top tube length of @ 22.5 inches but need standover and with a 29inch inside leg proving really difficult, anyone got any ideas?

I am also 5ft 5 and have a 29inch inside leg. I ride a 16 inch orange 5 and find it to be perfect. I use a 90mm stem and have no trouble with reach. Standover is close I guess but I have never had any problems. hope this helps.

My '08 Wolfridge? I'm 5'7" on a good day with a 29" inside leg aswell. Run It with a 367mm Thomson seatpost on the max line when climbing seated. Actual top tube is just under 22"

Good call - I went from a Heckler to the Marin, which was a touch shorter. Not as much standover as the Marin though IIRC...

Mongoose Canaan? I bought the comp, but it's not exactly light. They've got some Teams at Pauls cycles @ £1500. T-T is 22.5in, standover is 28in. Great little bike, really surprised me what it can do 🙂

the 14 inch is a possibility looking on orange website, might be a tad shorter than i need, 16inch (5pro) better length but standover would be balls on bar type job i think!

To be frank with a 29" inside leg you're just not going to get much standover on any full suspension frame (regardless of size). I'm got a 31" inside leg and don't get that much room on a 16" Orange 5. Just one of those things I'm afraid 😐 Best to get a bike that fits nicely lengthways and try not to bang your balls to much

5'4" small enduro here, 30"inseam, fits like a gloved thing.

Why not get the ASR SL? Standover's fine for me @ 29" inseam & that's on a medium. The small is a touch lower & a 22.5" effective top tube should be easily achieved.

Have a look at a small Pace RC405, standover height 28.14", top tube 21.93".
Small Hemlock could be worth a try too, they don't quote the stand over but it does have a very steeply sloped top tube.

Try a Medium Superlight-I'm only 1/2" taller than you with an inside trouser leg of 29" and it's fine with a 100mm stem & thomson Post. Standover is O.K too as the top tube is kinked. My previous bike was a previous modelSmall Superlight but I had a 130 stem with layback post-the current medium is way better. The bike tends to feel a bit tall when you first sling a leg over it but you soon settle down to the feel.
