is it ok to do this, cant guage how this will effect strength of the ring with the plastic steel thing..........so anyone done it and not died?

i have run a old slx middle ring all winter on an ss and it was fine you do need to file off a lot of material to get them to fit

thanks for reasurance jordie, did as bigyin said,there is a lot of material to file off that was my concern files easy though. 😯
