Does anyone have any experience of using a Fork Up on Thule 561 outrider?

Do they mark the fork lowers?
can they be locked on to the rack?
do they fit the axles well?
do you use an extra strap on the frame or just use the wheel strap provided by thule? Just concerned as the fork up jacks the bike higher and my bikes are not light.

Are they worth buying or should I just go with a pendle?

The reason I ask is that I have one bike a 15mm thru axle and one with a 20mm. The 561 wont take a 15mm axle so was going to a fork up, and may aswell get one for the 20mm. Just wondering if they are worth it.

Not quite the same but nearly .......
I use a maverick adapter on Velovise racks (same principle and an older rack) so I can comment on some bits.
I just strap it on with the wheel strap and the mav adapter - tend to fit the adapter to the fork on the ground and the load it all up together (just habit rather than anything else as I can then stand the bike on the ground without it sitting on the fork dropout.

The maverick one doesn't lock but then the standard Thule fork mount carrier locks arent much good anyway so I just add a little cable lock if we stop for any length of time !

It does put the bikes up higher but not by a lot and they don't seem to move anymore than a bike with QR forks or direct mounted to the rack

got one for my 15mm fork and it works fine on my 561, you can lock the fork-up to the rack but can't lock the fork to the fork-up.
haven't noticed any marks on my drop out but if i'm honest i haven't looked.
extra height is next to nowt, nothing i'm worried about anyway.
no extra strap but depends how you drive i suppose.

Great thanks for the feedback.

Fitting on the ground and loading altogether seems like a great advantage. My thinks £70 will be getting spent later today then.
