We are but 100ish miles away! 8)
I've had good service from Alpine Bikes on Holburn Street and EBC on George Street.
As for trails I recommend you check out the Ecurie Neep website.

haha mark is it ? your about 150 arnt you ? your 100 from me currently ... only moving 50 miles up the road - pastures new. More riding for exploration ๐
Just gotta find a job now !
like i said. ish.
I spend some time in the area - there is Glen Tanner at Aboyne, the Fungle road is meant to be good. Pitfichie is a good un too. Kirkhill is good fun, always find new stuff up there every time i go.
I have a map at the shoppe of the fungle. I will look it out tomorrow on the compooper.
i live in arbroath currently , really im just hopping round the other side of the glen tbh , ridden fungle , and glen tanner/ mount keen plenty times great trail , esp if you ride out from edzell up the river over mount keen , down tannar over the firmouth , back down the to the guard , ride the tech climb onto the fungle and then blast down the road for a warm down ๐
Is there anything to the north of aberdeen i might not have explored ? the Lecht just became a viable sunday run - ok ive done it from here but it was a 300k ride. over the cabrach - over the lecht and then down south deeside
I would highly recommend Bennachie, and there's good (but short) riding round Elrick Hill/Tyrebagger woods. Also short but nice riding in the woods near Countesswells. Er, Scolty Hill/Tower on southern edge of Banchory which has a brilliant technical descent from the tower! Pitfichie is also a nice trail. Plenty of options anyway. I might even have some GPS tracklogs of routes I did while I was staying up there.
+1 for Bennachie. Otherwise get a map, pick some hills and ride.
oh devs , i will be , trust me exploring is part of the fun but i just wanted to head in the right directions and not waste any time ๐
Another vote for Alpine bikes. As for trails I'll PM you some links that'll keep you busy.
There's a crew of us who normally go out on a Thursday, usually somewhere close like Kirkhill if you want some people to head out with.
You'll love the riding around here within say 30 miles..
Terry, Matt works in Aberdeen so would be up for exploring with you after work sometimes. We're not far up North, in Buckie. Pitfichie and Bennachie are good and again Matt would be able to show you round. YOu're both welcome to visit here and we'll show you both some of the rides up this way.

Reel that in a bit to 25 miles and stop riding my trails Aberdeen folk! :p
