I want to mimic seatstay rack bosses.

I want something like a T nut or a T bolt? With 2 long tabs so I can secure at both ends to a tube with jubilee clips. Frame has wishbone stays, so I'd probably clip one to each side of the central strut with the same jubilee clips.

Something like this (silver bit) but with longer tabs

Either nut or bolt would work, but perhaps bolt would be better - bolt length not so critical that way.

I've looked at braze-on adapters but the ones I've seen have the threads at the wrong angle. unless there's a type I've not seen?

Any of that make any sense at all?

Cheers for any pointers!

Surely a P-clip would be far better for this? It's what they're designed for.

I was thinking the same as njee, p-clip with the bolt straight through.
Edit, if you're zip tying slide bolts to a frame, it'll make a mess of the paint.

Huzzah! I had high hopes for a reply like that.

I could have worded it the same and said "Fill in the gap!"

Cheers Nick.

Pleasure! Your LBS may even have some - we had a whole bucket of different sized ones for different stays.

Would it work to use something like a seatclamp with built in rack mounts:
