I've just had a call from him; he's currently stuck in traffic near Birmingham, and won't be reaching Manchester for some time yet. He's asked me to tell youse to go for yer ride, and he'll be meeting up in the pub as arranged. If you've any info for him, let me know and I'll pass on the message.

Oh, and if you aren't going, but know folk who are who might not get this message, I'd be grateful if you could pass the info on to those who are, if possible.

Thanks.

(PS Mods; this is not a 'page' as i'm just passing important info on so's people aren't left waiting around. It's WCA's only way of passing on the info))

(PPS: If you are meeting him for a pint, be warned: You may experience feelings similar to oncoming Death in the morning...)

If you speak, tell him you CANNOT drive from Emmy's B&B to the pub - Satnav has it as a road but it's not passable in your average car

Tell him to give me a call when he gets to the B&B. 07799416722 (if he has printed out the directions as I told him to do, he should have the number already, if he hasn't he will sadly never find us. (Probably just getting stuck in the same place as the Ocado delivery van...)

Ok will do.

Dunno what motor he'll be in, a Merc or a pick-up truck.

He'll be wanting to park up and then walk to the pub, I'd imagine.

No problem. Just wish I could be up there too.

Have fun! He's a top, top bloke is WCA. Quite mad though. S'probbly a good thing he's not going biking relly. It's a long way from home if when he mashes himself up.

Please look after him. ๐Ÿ™

Will he be wearing a carnation?

I'll look for the guy that's lying on the cold, hard, stone floor, muttering under his breath 'I'm in the middle of no where'.

Our loop took us back past Emmy's place onthe way to the Pub. Fortuitously, WCA had just pulled up so we took him straight to the pub. when offered a pint, he replied "why thank you, Il'l have what you're having" with a bright, cheerful smile

His face dropped quite considerably when I said "and another pint of mild, please."

A most enjoyable evening. Not a huge amount of riding, not an overly huge amount of drinking for a weeknight. Hope everyone else made it home safely

Yes, got back safely. WCA sprinted on his bike the entire way! Interesting gusts of wind making you nearly want to brake going uphill!

It's a Robinson's pub, like most pubs in the area. Hatters mild is not a bad brew at all

I used to have a slight addiction to Riding mild (Riding = Mansfield Ales premier beer) before I moved away. Or local was the biggest seller of Riding Mild in the area. One barrel a week, mainly me and my dad!
