Anyone come up with a cunning solution for preventing crap getting on the spout? (Other than buying a different bottle)

Do any other bottle lids fit?

So sodding annoying.

I have this problem with other bottles too, I was thinking of a rubber band/hair band and some cut up innertube placed over it.

All of the bottles I have which are from different brands have different cap sizes.

i dont mind a normal bottle as yu can wipe the crud off. the fabric one has a nice recess that is small enough it prevents you cleaing it out but holds a goodly amount of crap.

i like hte bottle cage solution but hate the lid! you waste half the water clearing the lid.

The only solution I’ve found is to only use it in the summer! Though I did have an idea about stretching a small child’s sock over it, as we have lots of them.

I take a plastic milk bottle. Cut a strip off it. Wind it around bottle nozzle. Wrap that in tape. Punch a hole through it and attach with a bit of string.
Easy.
Obviously it could be made prettier.

It'll not work with the Fabric mounts but it'll stop you drinking manure.

Decathlon do some cheap ones with cap. Need a proper cage though, of course.

Thread resurrection! I'm going to 3D print a push-on crap excluder cap for my bottle. No idea if it'll work, but happy to share the 3D model if it does (probably can't rag the office 3D printer too much just yet unfortunately). It has three little nubbins on the inside to hopefully click into the groove on the bottle teat(?!).

Camelbak bottles are the worst for this.... Maybe fine for roadies, but not off road.

Not sure if they'll fit the fabric bottles, but Camelbak sell a really neat cap for their podium bottles. They're made of soft rubber, so might fit the Fabric bottle too?

They sell the caps on their own HERE.

Or you can buy the bottle, complete with the cap as well; HERE. (Although that bottle obviously won't work with the Fabric mounting system).

I lost it ages ago so fairly pointless resurrection!

Also I moaned and they sent me a new design cap with less shit retention capabilities.

Aha! I’ve found a Camelbak spout cover which I’ve hacked up for mine. Haven’t tested it yet...
