I'm looking at a Crank Bros Directset headset - basically because they're very short and will open out options on stems for my bike with a steerer that's a fraction short (or really, it's just got a very long head tube).
Anyone got any experiences of one - I know they have a 5 year warranty but are they actually reliable?
Also which model? The Directset C can be had for £30ish while the AM/FR is more like £50.

Great headset, be very careful with installation tho as they can crack very easily... ideally get a shop to press it in.
If you ride XC get the C version.

Phew 🙂 just ordered on on the basis that no one was answering - only £32 at Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op.
