We received a parking ticket today. Could quite understand it as, well, it was in French. Slightly perplexed as we had parked in the same place for 3 days now, no problem. There are no road markings, signs, meters or anything indications we couldn't park there. We genuinely looked thoroughly before leaving it their. Our chat has underground parking but the Raging Bull doesn't fit!

Anybody had a ticket before?

Did you pay?

What's the legalities of it?

Where do you pay it?

British plates?

If so I wouldn't be too bothered. Still waiting for mine from Chamonix 2007...

They have odd rules about parking on one side of the road on certain days and other side of the road on other days, I've never understood it!

Ignore it, they'll never find you once you are back in the UK. Just make sure you take a different car next time you go to France . . .

Very unlikely you'll get chased for it. IMO they are just sending you a message not you to park there anymore, they may have ignored you the first couple of days but decided three in a row was too much. I've never been chased back to uk for speeding tickets either only been tagged back when it's been a rental car so local plates. Parking tickets are much lower key. As for rules it's a dark art they do have a blue / Burgandy sign for no parking and also whether there are posts/barriers on the pavement usually means no parking. It seems to me in France if you put your hazard lights on you can park anywhere including on a pedestrian crossing !
