I need a bit more encouragement to get out on my bike ATM and I find riding with like-minded people does me good. Are there any evening rides around Oxford that are happening consistently every week? I saw a group of about 6 riders out last night around Christmas Commons, they seemed like regulars?

I believe the [url= http://witneymbc.wordpress.com/ ]witney mountain bike club[/url] ride a couple of evenings a week during the summer (although I've never joined them so can't give an objective opinion).
maybe wait more than an hour for a reponse?????? Or use the forum search tool to see posts about riding and riders in the area?
A really active group rides at least 2 nights a week out of Oxford, but not sure that we're likeminded as most of us have some patience 🙄 Youre asking to take advantage of others hospitality, might be worth making a better first impression.
JEngledow, I can travel so anywhere really. I looked into Witney MTB club, they require a membership which I don't mind but would like to see them first for activity before I pay any money which I think is fair.

Just bemuses when people follow-up on lack of response so quickly. Are you actually in Oxford? If so I'll PM you about a night ride meet next week (tuesday's ride might be sacked in favour of watching the Halford series crit in town).
I'm Kidlington but do not mind travelling. How late do your night rides tend to run? Will I need lights or do you tend to knock off as it begins to darken?

everyone has lights, but at this time of year only need em for the end of the ride (usually meet 730pm, ride till around 930).
Pros racing around city centre circuit. hopefully past a pub beer garden or two!

I'm not into road-biking yet but...perhaps as a fitness extension.
Smudge on here sells lights and batteries, you can get similar fare direct from far east but have a waiting time and dodgy back up
