I've got a weekend off being a devoted dad so am hoping to ride tomorrow.

But is it singlespeed/mud tyres time or can I still take a geared bike?

No!

I was out last night. Its still quite firm, with a greasy top layer. Gears is fine. You will get muddy, but most of the trails are covered with leaves and some are even dry.

How goes parenthood?

It's good thanks, he's nearly 8 months now.

I've only ridden twice off road since Feb, so I'm really looking forward to getting out.

How's things with you?

bikebouy, I should hope not. Any CXer who even cracks the resemblance of a smile or gives way isn't worth their salt in my book.
