Anyone got a neat trick to get some convex washers off M5 taperhead bolts? I thought it would be as simple as 'screwing' them off the thread but it's almost as if they were manufactured on there!

I've had this before so I don't think it's unique to the bolts that I currently have.

Any ideas?

Some are manufactured on there. They are easy to identify as the are free to spin and have a little bit of vertical movementdue to the size of the hole in them being the same as the diameter of the top of the bolt which is slightly smaller than the thread od.

Sounds like that's the case then ๐Ÿ™

So, if I bought some convex M5 washers and M5 taperhead bolts, would these be likely to be a viable replacement for the existing M5 with integrated washer that I have?

Can't think of a reason why not as all the washer does is help stop the bolt coming lose.
