Following a brake bleed catastrpohe I am now the proud owner of a completely brake fluid free rear Hope mono m4 brake system. Does anyone have any pointers on how to fill this back up air pocket free?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

big syringe+ a bit of pipe then fill from the caliper up . it should push all the air out as you fill the system.

bleeding from completely empty is always a bit tricky, but there are a couple of tricks you can use:

1. syringe the fluid in from the bleed nipple on the calliper (if you have a syringe and suitable tube)
2. fill the reservoir in the lever, open the bleed nipple, the repeat this:
- put your finger over the bleed nipple
- squeeze lever
- remove your finger, then replace it (you should hear a little hiss of air).
- release the lever
- check the fluid level (don't let it run dry) and repeat.
do that enough times and the fluid will be pushed all the way through, then you can bleed them as normal to get full power.

Just do it the same way you'd bleed. Syringes will do it (slightly) quicker, but the job is easily done without them.

Thanks for the quick response and all of the ideas guys. I'll try and get hold of a syringe if I can think of where to get one... Otherwise I'll give it a bash as per your idea ThreeFish.

Cheers!
