Every year we quiz our editors and contributors to find out what gear, what bikes, what moments made this year for them
enduro or trail bike with a radial Mary up front and a radial Tacky Chan on the rear
There is a radial Tacky Chan? What other radials have I missed beyond Albert and Mary?
As I remember it, one of the uses of the money that was raised buy selling Singletrack shares was to attract a younger demographic of reader/user. If that's still the aim, you're going to have to start refining the focus of product tests include popular and core mountain bike products at lower, (much lower!) price points. Seeing all these summary reviews in one article highlights what a range of unobtainable and niche kit is reviewed here.
I've got a daughter in her mid 20's and nether she or any of her mates would have the kind if disposable income to be looking for 3 grand frames or 850 quid bike racks. If you really want to widen the appeal the demographic who are searching for reviews on the kind of bikes and gear you can buy from Halfords or Go Outdoors etc. need to be able to find Singletrack too. I'm not suggesting just reviewing lower end, (real world?) stuff otherwise nobody would ever develop into the higher range kit but there definitely needs to be a better balance.
And yeah, I did invest in shares, so this is my opinion as a part owner!
Would really like to know Benji’s thoughts on Cotic E-Rocket 504Kwh vs 630Kwh and any handling differences (rather than range differences).
"have you seen how much ‘real’ walking boots cost?"
I have, yeah, and a similar (i.e. three-season) boot would probably have an RRP of about 100 quid less.
(I appreciate that the Shimano ones are often available below RRP, but then again so are many walking boots)

Quite I got some adidas terrex goretex walking boots for about £100 and that was in Keswick so hardly bargain basement land.
