Or would I die. Looking to take a pint on a heavily discounted Selle Italia saddle but it’s Ebike Specific. I expect it’ll have a rise at the very back but otherwise why would this be a bad idea?

You will definitely die.

That saddle is unlikely to be the cause of death.

ebike specific just means it usually has a little extra padding, so basically like a cheaper model any way, that they get to sell at a higher price as it's ebike specific!

actually.. i believe E bike ones have a bigger and grippier 'lip' at the rear, to stop you shooting off the back of the e bike..

Perhaps it has wider wings for the more portly eBiker derrière?

It’s probably just heavier than a standard one maybe with more padding and a different shape. If it looked OK and was dirt cheap I might be tempted but it’s probably a bit of a bodge on a normal bike.

Heated seats and heated grips- that’d be ideal!

Is "Ebike" the new prefix to replace "Enduro" so they can add 20% to the price?

It’s this kind thick customer that keeps the bike industry going.
Good on ya.

ffs e-bike (and Gravel) specific stuff is just a marketing ploy to up the price, i.e. if you can afford an e-bike we should be able to charge you more for e-bike specific bike parts, shorts, shirts, socks, shoes, backpacks, ad infinitum ........ get over yourselves, please!

I've been tempted by a couple of cheap ones for the winter road/gravel bike.

I think the theory is that if you're pushing less hard on the pedals due to e-assistance, then there will be more weight on saddle. This checks out to me, I always notice saddle discomfort more on easy rides when I'm just soft pedalling.

ffs e-bike (and Gravel) specific stuff is just a marketing ploy to up the price

Lol! Why does this upset people so much? e.g. Prologo market two otherwise identical saddles at the same price for both road and gravel use, the gravel version being more padded because bumps etc. Where's the problem in that? Arguably they could even argue a small cost uplift for moar padding and perhaps lower volume of sales.

Either way it's nothing to get your pants in a knot over and nobody needs to 'get over themselves' 🙄

Lol! Why does this upset people so much

Especially as the OP is only asking about this ‘specific’ saddle as it’s heavily discounted/cheap...
