Can anyone recommend an Ebike hire place ideally in/close to Ambleside?
Looking for 2 electric FS trail bikes for a day in June.
Googling has mainly brought up hybrids and Hardtails

Hired some Specialized Levos from here last October. Bikes were in great condition and the service was really good:

Cheers, bikes look perfect but looks like only covered by their insurance to ride within grizedale forest and was intending to do a bigger ride than that

Yes, I noticed the clause about staying within the forest before we hired ours. However, when I asked at the shop when we picked them up they were really relaxed about it and even suggested some route options which went outside the forest area.
I think the main issue is they don't want to be driving miles to pick you or the bikes up if you have a problem. If you accept responsibility for getting the bikes back I'm sure you'll be fine.
Worth giving them a ring and asking them anyway.

Lake District Bikes are a suggestion as well, a friend knows the chap who runs it and it seems to be bang on. Few different choices of sizes and brands too.
