Well folks, being an hour ahead of most of you I would kick this off so here's my little story.

In late 1996 i think it was, I invited two couples over to my house for my first ever dinner party. My Mum had shown me how to do a white sauce (rue?), and i was going to do tagiatelle, white sauce and some veg.

So because it was all a bit much doing all three together, I did the pasta first, (left it in a collander) then the white sauce and veg.

When it came to putting the pasta in my new big pasta bowl, well it didnt slip out as i thought it would, it just came out all stuck together in the shape of the collander, so it was more like a cake out of a tin.

You had to slice it almost, and I was the only one to eat everything on my plate. The evening was only saved by my friend Liz who had brought cake for pudding.

So yeah, that was my one and only dinner party. Friends/colleagues have been wanting to come over to my house for ages, and I explained I was still traumatised by this experience. But they have talked me into it, and my friends Kasper and Olof are going to help in the cooking - we're doing curry.

Wish me luck!

So yeah,

Eating - Si's curry (ok, with a bit of help from Morrison's Indian selection of starters and Lloyd Grossman)
Drinking - wine (lots)
Listening - my mega compilation on my ipod and maybe then off to karaoke ๐Ÿ˜€

Have a great weekend all. My stitches came off my back too but the nurse said they could still burst if i go biking so not too sure if i am riding at all this weekend.

Have a good one

Don't get too upset Simon, Abigail's Party is probably quite close to the bone for many here.
