Yup, Reba's can take a fantastic amount of abuse and all they ask in return is a wee drink of oil and a seal to keep them warm.You can get the decals for not much on fleabay if that is an issue.

Depends how bad it is. If the scuffs are deep enough air/oil can leak out and crap can get in. Believe me they don't have to be that deep, even something like leaving a travel measuring zip tie on can scratch them enough to knacker them.
