[Closed] E13 XCX chainguide problem

No matter what I try I can't seem to get the chainring to sit in the middle of the two plates of my E13 XCX chain guide. I've tried all permutations of spacers I have and I can't get the thing to stop rubbing the outer section. Frame is a Cotic Soul with a 73mm bottom bracket shell. Crank/bottom bracket is Shimano Deore M590, with a Blackspire chainring set in the middle ring position.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

I had the same and had to hit it with a rubber mallet until it bent over a tiny bit.
No amount of logical shimming would stop it rubbing so I just gave it a whack then tested then another whack until I was happy. Not had any rubbing since.

I had same prob with my c456,dependent on what size chainring,i found that putting chainring on the inside of the spider, also i unscrewed the two plates, found some plastic (4mm thick),cut a template out, then screwed back together, works a treat now!

EDIT;Doesnt have to be 4mm.

I have found it easier to shim the chain guide itself as opposed to bb but then what works for one frame/crank combo may not work for another.

Fitted one last night , used a couple of the provided shims, so two shims then the guide screwed up tight with the BB , so far all seems ok ,

Jeffus, what cranks are you using?

Had to file some of the inside of the guide on mine so it dropped low enough over my raceface turbine cranks that I didn't loose the chain. It's as close as it will go to the seat tube (73mm Solaris) but still rubs a bit when grubby

Where's it rubbing as if your in 1st or 9,10,11th depending on how many gears you run you will always have some rub at one end of the cassette range.
