Interesting article in the Hoots mon from a few days back, Glasgow planning a trial of giving up city centre parking to allow space for scooters, and thus bikes, some pavements one way etc... 15 miles all in, quite a plan.

If they were made legal, I'd have one.

There’s an article on the bbc about how they would work if made legal...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-48106617

Basically, only as part of a rental scheme (not allowed to use your own) and only within prescribed limits within city centres.

Edit: looks like thats the trials, Rather than full blown legality

I'd get one when legal.

Keep bikes for fun and fitness; e-scooter for short urban/suburban journeys including commuting, where they seem utterly more practical than bikes (including ebikes).

Oh great. I can see it now. It'll go the same way as skateparks 😃

You'll be waiting patiently at a junction for your turn, then out of nowhere a Scooter will drop in, snaking you.

You'll be wanting to pull into a space but it'll be overloaded with about 15 scooterists.

You'll want to pull over for a rest and buy some snacks, but there'll be an enormous cue of scooterists with the money their mums gave them blocking the way.

There's not much in the way of choice atm, hopefully if the trials successful, there'll be a bit more.
