Ordered mine end of September and they have finally conceded that they may have gone 'missing'.
Offered to re-send but if stock is all out then I may as well make do with the old Lumi halogens for another winter - clocks will have gone forward before i finally get them!!

The good news: Stif.co.uk appear to have then in stock (rebranded as Ledlite as per recent mag review) 🙂

The bad news is that they're charging £150 🙁

I just ordered some other tat from them and got the exact same thing. No idea what it's all about, the bits arrived about 10 days after which was still alright.

Jeez.. Ordered 2 lights that were in stock early Nov.. Shipment waiting for other bits pending till 30th Nov.. When other bits don't turn up the lights mysteriously aren't in stock either.. Then mysteriously are in stock again when I tell them to cancel the other bits and refund all my money. Why do they sit with their thumb up their ass on 2 items that I desperately want for 3 whole weeks? grrr. Never mind...

Anyone found an extension lead for the light yet?

Geomangear sells a y-split but not an extension, which is frankly odd. Easy enough to wire your own though

For cables / extensions; They use standard dc connections. I use one of these no probs:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-5M-2-1mm-DC-POWER-EXTENSION-CABLE-LEAD-CCTV-CAMERA_W0QQitemZ350283958477QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CCTV?hash=item518e8d08cd#ht_2091wt_1165

Or if you want something custom - you can go to Maplin for 2.1mm DC plugs and get soldering.

Update:
Ordered 2 Nov.
Left DX (apparently) 27 Nov
Was saying left HK on 28th but ...
HK Post now says left HK 6th Dec.
But arrived today (9th Dec)!!! Yipee.
How can something so small be so bright?
No excuses now (damn, wheels away being trued...) 😀

Cheers couldashouldawoulda, I reckon it would cost more than that to get the bits out of Maplin these days, they're rip off compared to what they used to be. Got one coming, can't complain even if it's crap at that price.

I ordered mine 30th Nov and went for the EMS postage because I had some store credit (2 months of waiting for a torch that finally turned out to be not in stock). On the order status for the last 10 days it was waiting for supplier, than 2 days ago it was showing Packaging order. So I was thinking I`m lucky, and won't have to wait a month or so to get them unlike some guys here. But surprise surprise. I checked the status today and it shows: Processing - Awaiting stock. Arghhh. I was thinking that they might just flick through the processes to keep the customers happy as I wrote an email saying that if the light is not in stock than to replace it with one of the other 2 that are available, magically order went to packaging but now it's on Processing.

Back to waiting and checking the order status, let's just hope it turns up at some point before summer 😉

But I do have a mini rant about DX. I paid for a Romisen torch and got bored of waiting after a month and tried to contact them twice to cancel the order. I finally got a resolution after over 2 months and because it was 60 days from transaction according to DX I would have to contact PayPal for a refund and that they might not always refund me blah blah blah, BUT they can offer me to leave the amount as store credit and use it against another order in the future. How convenient... Mini rant over.

Let's just hope it will blow me away with it's performance to justify the waiting time.

DX customer service is great.

All I had to do was take a picture of the missing part before they'd consider replacing it. Seeing as I didn't have the missing part, they wouldn't. Just as well it was only a strap.

Still wouldn't buy the same thing at 3 times the price from Stif tho.

Woop woop! Mine was sent today with EMS, so should be with me sometime next week. Works out that the waiting time is about 3 to 4 weeks depending on the postage option. Fingers crossed they arrive safely 🙂

Just thought i would add this in...

I have ordered 8 units in (not from DX), with the option to order as many more as i like, hoping for delivery in the next few days.
They also come with a UK plug and a helmet mount.

I wont be able to do them as low as the US price, but if anyone is interested please email me (in profile). And i will let you know more....

PS - Sorry if this is classed as a 'trade' message, its not meant to...

Cheers
Josh...

There's someone on ebay selling a couple of what look like DX / HK equivalent type lights on fleabay, that are left overs from a group order.
Going for about £55 - £65. Good deal?

Still showing 'Temporary Stock Shortage' on my order... Has anyone ordered on or after the 19th Nov and had any joy?

I just got a confirmation from Bestofferbuy, the helmet light is out there but the bar light is in stock. It's slightly more expensive, but they're substituting the item without a price increase. Doesn't look like it'll be here for christmas though, which is a downer.

Just got my dispatch confirmation, with an estimated delivery time between 21st Dec and 4th Jan. So, seems like that's the place to go just now. But bar mounts only so if you want helmet mount, you either need to bodge it or buy one for a tenner seperately.

Cheers Northwind - have just jumped ship to Bestofferbuy after too long waiting for the DX ones as well. Fingers crossed that you didn't clean out their stock!

For the saving. Really- why not just get some Airbike SL's from On-one? Circa 40quid saving is negligible considering the wait, warranty if prob. Self-fix, trawling the net for fixes etc. I'd rather spend the little extra tbh.

If £40 is negligable to you, maybe you'd like to give it to me?

I put a new drivetrain on my bike for £45 - Chain, cassette, rear mech, 2 chainrings and rebuilt the back wheel.... 🙂

Status: Out of Stock
Shipment Date: 14/12/09 and gives a tracking number.

So, what does that mean? It's not in stock but it was shipped on the 14th?

I ordered mine mid October and they arrived 5 weeks later. Only prob was by that point i had injured my knee so could not ride.

Put them both on eBay and doubled my money tho which was nice.

PeterPoddy! So you'd rather wait upwards of 5 weeks AND have the hassle of posting it back if it goes kapput (along with another wait mid-winter for the lights to return)?!!!!

Mine's been sent. Ordered on the 12th, currently showing as being on a plane, on it's way to me. (3 mode version couldn't see the point buying the 5 mode one tbh).

Is this the bestofferbuy equivalent?

http://www.bestofferbuy.com/haiii-cree-ssc-p7c-sxo-3mode-900lumen-led-headlamp-set-418650-included-p-30910.html

I'd be interested in knowing the delivery length and whether you get stung at customs.
