Got a week near Dumfries this next week. Whats rideable and idealy only a bit sloppy at the moment. Not up to date on the felling/windblown trees situation?
Ae and Mabie are pretty much all open. Dalbeattie still has some trees down, though is mostly open. Ae certainly has a few tress down , but most can be bypassed, the frst climb on the red has been shut for over a year now, the fire road at the side is the diversion. There are evening rides at Ae on Tuesdays, the younger/fitter ones go out around 6.15, the older ones at 6.45. The cafe is open for 2 course dinner afterwards for £7.50.

ta for this. Haven’t got lights with me so wouldn’t be able to do the night rides this time.
The bike shop at Ae sometimes have lights available to hire. Worth a DM if you were keen.
Not much to add to Alan's reply; Shambellie was always worth a detour from Mabie but it got *whacked* with harvesting last summer and remains in a sorry state.
Plenty of good stuff in Ae & Mabie to keep you entertained for a week though.
I can lend you some decent lights on a Tuesday, though I’m there for the later, 6.45, group. Just follow up here, and I’ll make sure I have them with me.
Thanks mate, don’t think it will fit in with the rest of our plans on this occasion appreciate the thought though.
did get out for a ride at mabie yesterday though very wet under the tyres but dry skies while we were out.
