The plug on my battery has become detached from the wires. I noticed this when charging - the powerpack was showing a green light when I knew the battery was empty, so I wiggled the plug, lo and behold the wires were loose and it sparked a couple of times.

So... is it safe for me to solder the plug back on? Anyone know the voltage of the battery? I am assuming it's quite low.

As you can see, electronics not my forté...

It'll be fine, just be very careful not to short the +ve and -ve together. Voltage will be very low.

Hi poppa,
if you have any problems post it to me and i'll put a new lead on for you.

Nominal voltage should be about 7.5V but depends on the state of charge you had it in?

Thanks for the offer smudge, I may be in touch depending on how things pan out!

The socket is moulded pretty solidly to the wire, do I need to buy a new socket? I can't really see how to remove it and get at the connections.

yes it it will be moulded, but best solution would be to put a whole new lead on then theres only one solder joint and the connector would still be waterproof. But doing this you will have to re-shrink the battery.
