Best price I could find for Super Tacky HR 2.5 Dual Ply was £40.95 with Merlin, with VIP discount they were £36.86 inc delivery.

Thought it might be handy for all those about to go on an Alps trip. If you know of a better deal please don't tell me. 🙂

WTF! The price of tires has gone nuts. I havent bought any for a couple of years, I think they were about £25 back then?

Yup, in case you hadn't noticed, all prices have gone mental in the last couple of years. 🙂

Even the standard ones are normally about £30 now.

Is there now a market for 2nd hand tires then? I have some well used 2.35 dual plys or some unused continental diesel dual plys if these are any good?

Nah, SP's used to be £20 and I remember buying DP's for £25. Ah well, better value for money that 23c Continental GP4000s, theres nowt to them!

Once my last stash of Maxxis DH tyres has gone (at £25 each!) i'll be moving to Schwalbe,

You can get the DH casing tyres in Vertstar & Trailstar compounds (similar to 42a & 60a) for just over £32 each inclusing postage if you hunt around.

Can't quite beat your price when you include VIP discount but http://nextdaytyres.com are usually pretty good on price...

I bought a pair of those for my trip to Spain last September, I definately only paid abdout £50 plus £5 postage.

Can't remember where that was from but it was a deal on a pair as I asked if I could swap to a 60a for one and they said no despite the 60a's being cheeper.
