I've got a set of DT Swiss EXC150TA which I had since around October. I'd say I've done 25-30 hours on them (yeap I know very poor effort) and they still seem to rebound very very slowly. Even on minimum compression and rebound damping they seem to take an age to return. Has anyone experience a similar thing. Do they normally seem to take a while to bed in?
Err - Not too up on the DTSwiss terminology, that the coil or air forks?
I've a set of RC41F (150mm air) which took about 2 minutes to set up and that was that. Are you sure you've got the setting right?
They are the direct replacement for yours. 150mm Air with a 20mm axle. Pretty sure I've got it all setup right, I also have a set of rc40's that are a lot faster.
Does the rebound damping adjustment actually make any difference?
if it does then you might just have a slipped/miss-set adjuster, wind them to min rebound, undo the screw, reposition at half rebound and tigthen the screw. Now wind them to minimum, any better? if so you've fixed it, if not put it back. and send em for service/warranty
and don't forget it's the air spring that provides the rebound force... no air pressure = slow rebound
Thanks, will give that a go tommorrow. The rebound does seem to make difference, goes between honey and treacle slow :D.
Turned out to be excellent advice. Thanks again, forks now rebounding as expected :D. That's the sort of useful information you'd expect the manual to contain!
