today, i noticed a bit of a bulge in my rear wheel, a crack all the way through the center of the inner wall. so i need a replacement. been very happy with these so far. Anyone know where i can still find one, 32 hole, all black, xr 4.1 d?

You need a rim with the same "E.R.D" as your old one if you cant find the exact model. I wrecked an obsolete Sun XC1 rim, but the DT XR430 has the same E.R.D so it built straight onto the spokes.
It's been replaced by the 4.2.
Still managed to but a dent in the rim first time out though, so still made of cheese.
i know the xr 4.1d has been discontinued, im just trying my luck if anyone out there knows of a shop with one in stock. looks like i might have to go for xr400 or maybe a 500 on the rear.
