The stanchions on my DT swiss XMM forks have started to show some little streaks of oil so it's time for a service.
Has anyone done this themselves, I used to service my motorbike forks myself so have done some work with forks but the DT swiss seem a lot more complicated.

There's a video by DTSwiss on youtube - probably a good place to start. The basic service is pretty straight forward - although you do need some circlip pliers.

Thanks, that does look quite easy.

Can the seals be easily popped out of the lowers?

A big flat-bladed screwdriver and a steady hand should be OK?

The seals are a pain to get out of the lowers... I ended up getting a big pan of boiling water and holding the seal end of the lowers in there.

Once the seals had heated up they popped out fairly easily.

Getting the new seals back in again was interesting too! Ended up using a large socket a wooden mallet in the end I seem to recall!

The rest was pretty straight forward I think, the YouTube videos certainly helped a lot.
