If you're a full-on gnarr dude and composure on repeated big hits at mach 9 are your priority then a 38 or a Zee will probably be a better fork in fairness.

For the kind of riding that the vast, vast majority of us do, the F535 is bang on, supple and comfy for long rides but doesn't dive in the steeps, easy to set up, low maintenence etc.

Issue is that some jornos only seem to want to test forks by shuttling DH runs.

Anyone noticed the last 5mm returning slower than the main travel?
I'm aware it has a mini-spring but should the transition between air and coil not be more seamless?

Do you mean last 5mm of travel at top of legs or on initial compression?

if the initial compression of travel then increase negative coil spring rate.

Its interesting reading the reviews, apart from the STW one which is glowing they all give the impression that it feels beautiful and plush until pushed hard but I suspect that as Hatter says that they will feel great in my 50 yr old hands. You can see though why they haven't sold despite looking high quality, its too easy to choose Pikes instead. I can't say I've ever got my Pikes to feel forgiving enough.

Just finished installing the fork late last night, only ridden 1 meter in the garage, hoping to get some testing done today.
Previous fork was/is a Fox 36 Fit4 which is excellent when I'm riding like those guys in Youtube videos but in flat terrain they feel bit wooden so let's see if DT will be opposite of that. I was going to get coil fork or coil conversion to 36 but prices are bit high compared to DT fork price.

That was my choice. Smashpot my well used Pike or for £70 more try this.

A friend fitted one for someone last week and liked it that much he has bought one for himself He test rode properly it last night and loved it.

Just had mine delivered by Wiggle. It look like a terrific piece of kit and at a bargain price. Can’t wait to build up the bike and ride like there’s no tomorrow.

The last 5mm when the fork is returning.

About 5-6hours of actual riding done and I really like this fork. There are still settings to explore but combination of coil and air springs works nicely - I get sensitivity to remove chatter and yet support for rest of the travel is there.

The secret seems to be to get the sag-point right so they sit in the correct part of the travel for the position sensitive damper to work as intended.

Set them up too soft and they sit into the mid-stroke which is designed to resist diving so they lose sensitivity and actually end up feeling harsher.

Once you have the sag right then you just tweak the volume spacers and rebound to suit.

The online set-up guide is good place to start https://www.setupguide.dtswiss.com/en/opt-in

I've a spare pair available if anyone's interested
Long story short I bought a pr for both me and my riding buddy
He doesn't like the extra 20 mm on his new forks over the designed 140mm and they can't be reduced in travel as easily as we were first advised elsewhere .
So a pr of 650b 160mm travel is for sale 2 rides only immaculate as expected with everything Inc as when bought new will include receipt
£260.00 Inc next day delivery
PM me or reply if interested thankyou .

Mine arrived - product looks great. Just waiting for a boost front wheel to arrive then I can give them a go. Really like the concept.

Don't suppose anyone ordered a 130mm 29er boost by mistake and they want to sell it on? 🙂

Fitted mine this weekend, 140mm version on my hardtail. Initial signs are good, they’re lovely and plush over roots and trail chatter.

Any updates over time on it's performance? Trying to choose between bikes with this and pike or 36. I'm light and every pike I've ever ridden has felt too harsh so leaning toward this but a bit nervous of all the reviews too. I need it to feel plush at speed on trail centre rocky trails, mostly.

Really happy with mine, replacing fox 34’s they feel like a more premium product in look, feel and performance (which as one of the lucky folk that got them on deal from wiggle, I still shake my head how crazy a deal that was).

Out the box they are really plush, guess that’s the coil spring part. Manufacturers settings work pretty much spot on for me, tried playing around with settings but not by much. Ship with 2 spacers installed which felt great, running with one over winter as riding slower and the extra plushness over wet roots is welcome.

Couple of the TF lot run them and rate highly.

Oh, and all the extras included are great, even down to little things like spare bolts (which are tiny) for the brake cable holder

I bought some on that Wiggle deal to replace some Pikes and don't regret it. I too am small and around 77kg. I set them up as per DT Swiss suggestions. I've since removed a few psi as I was left with quite a lot of travel but having done one or two bigger drops recently they use that travel when required.

Just bumping the thread - I've yet to fit mine from the mega wiggle deal but just wondering if anyone who has the remote adjust, can you just leave it in open mode and not attach the remote? Would prefer less clutter on my bars.. Spoke to tf about changing to crown adjust but the part is £60 odd plus they recommend them doing it so a service cost of £105 too.

Also, how are you getting on with them?

I'm impressed with the quality and performance so far. I keep meaning to have more of a mess with them token wise but I have been too busy enjoying them. Over the last few months I've been riding steeper lines and bigger drops (or at least I was till the hospitals filled up) and have found that they sit up well in there travel and handle big hits really well.
I have yet to go anywhere really rocky to see how they handle chunk but they have felt good at Wharncliffe in the slop.

I certainly haven't noticed any flex.

Yeah you can run the remote versions without the lever, the compresion will just be set at 'fully open' all the time'

This is the setting you'll have them in for 99% of the time anyway so that may well be a worthy sacrifice for an uncluttered bar.

The remote versions also look super clean with everything on the crown hidden away.

Ok great, I'll prob try them with the remote for a bit but if I end up not using it it'd be nice to do away with it.
Great to hear they're working nicely Mugboo. Had slight second thoughts reading that people prefer shorter offsets on 29ers now but seems the difference is small and I'd have to pay twice as much for something of the same quality.

I ran mine in an Ibis Ripley V4 at 140mm travel & they are a very nice performing fork. I really like them, as nice as my Ohlins RXF34 & also boost which the Ohlins weren’t, supple & supportive through the travel I ended up removing a token so could get use of all the travel leaving a bit in reserve for big hits!

Has anyone tried fitting a direct mount bolt on mudguard instead of the DT Swiss one? In proper FOD slop it's a bit short

Bit of a hijack but if anyone is thinking of selling their 140/150mm 29er boost forks I would be interested. Missed the mega deal but now looking to upgrade the bike.

Now really wish I'd bought a set of these. At least they seem to come up fairly cheap on eBay.

Only available is 110mm boost hub aren't they? Would be for a large frame with 120mm head tube and a external lower cup. Probably be needing 190mm though need to calculate properly.
